Welcome to a transformative journey of self-discovery and divine connection through the archetypal language of Tarot! In this guide, we embark together on an exploration of the subconscious, unlocking the keys to our innermost truths.
Note on Self-Exploration:
In our quest for self-discovery, it's essential to recognize that time and effort are most effectively invested in questions focused on our personal journey. While it may be tempting to inquire about the feelings or actions of others, our primary exploration lies within. Consider this a gentle reminder that the power of the tarot is most potent when used for self-reflection, and the energies we seek to understand in others may be better navigated through our own unique experiences. (i.e., asking if my business will succeed is way less helpful than asking how I can set myself up so that my business succeeds — or asking if someone reciprocates feelings for me is way less helpful than asking what I need to feel most secure and stable in relationships.)
Philosophy:
Tarot, to me, is a sacred conversation — a means of communing with the depths of our being and seeking guidance from the Universe. The questions we pose are the whispers that stir the cards to unveil the profound insights waiting to be discovered. Precision in our language is the key that unlocks the clarity of response. As we weave this dialogue, let us remember that the tarot is not just a silly fortune-telling mechanism but a tool for empowerment, reflection, and growth.

Tarot, in its essence, is not merely a deck of cards; it is a 🪞mirror🪞 reflecting the dialogue between our conscious minds and the divine wisdom that resides all around and within us.
Perhaps begin by sitting with the following affirmations and, if they resonate with you, consider adding them to a journal or note at your altar to remind you of your goals — or replace with your own!
I approach each tarot reading with curiosity and openness and I am excited to see what unfolds.
I commit to spending the next 30 days getting to know myself.
The intention of this month is to create a container for my Unconscious and intuitive sides, I feel free to expand and deepen my relationship with my most subtle self 🙏

The tarot gives us an opportunity to insert free will. The tarot allows us to operate from the conscious vs. unconscious. - Serita Fontanessi
The tarot doesn't predict the future. It's not that type of divination. It helps us understand what our possibilities are and the choices we make. It's entrenched in free will and the choices that we make. Every action has a consequence, good, bad, neutral, or different.
It's important to remember that we have a choice! We have free will. We can forget this, and the tarot can help to remind us that we can in fact wield it at any time. Patterns only exist because we allow them.
The traditional tarot is the Fool's journey. We start with the Fool and every single card is a place in their subsequent adventure and growth, just like how our lives take meandering twists and turns.
When we pull a card, what we're asking is, where am I on this journey? At the core of it, where are we at in our relationship (to another, to our home, to ourselves) on our journey?
The information is there, but you still need to make the choice to face your challenge head-on. It's not telling you what's going to happen, it's saying if you'd like to work through this moment, this is how you can do it.
The Tarot can help us with the who, the how, the why - it can give us information to help us make conscious decisions. How do we use this information, how do we work through it?
The subconscious can be linked to the Devil in tarot. The Devil is about perceived power and control. The Devil is about asserting dominance over a situation or person. Our subconscious, in the same way, can take over and remain in control of us if we're not actively aware of it and working on it. Sometimes you need to subvert the moment and take back the power and the moment. ~If I allow myself to believe that I am in power and in control, then eventually I will be!
When we think about our subconscious, the tarot gives us an opportunity to insert our free will and operate from conscious rather than unconscious programming.
